Russia’s SUEK says rejects moratorium on bankruptcy
MOSCOW, Jun 3 (PRIME) -- Russian coal producer Siberian Coal Energy Company (SUEK) has used the right to reject a moratorium on bankruptcy, the company said in a request published on Wednesday on the website of the unified federal register of legal information on activities of companies.
“From the date of publishing of this request, the moratorium is not applied to SUEK, and restrictions on the rights and liabilities under points 2 and 3 of article 9.1 of the law are not applied to SUEK and its creditors,” the company said.
The Russian government introduced a moratorium on filing for bankruptcies against strategic and systemically important companies, as well as companies from the sectors hurt by the coronavirus by creditors. At the same time, the moratorium introduces some restrictions for the companies, including a ban on dividend payments.
